It’s official: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially engaged! The royal news brought a smile to everyone’s faces, including ours as we watched their official photo opt and romantic interview on BBC, proving that true love still does exist. While we can go on and on about how sweet and normal Prince Harry’s proposal was – over roast chicken, or the ‘wiggle’ Prince Harry did when he heard the word “husband”, we are more interested in the epic fashion moment Meghan will have as she walks down the aisle. The wedding dress and wedding shoe that she chooses will be admired by millions who will be watching the live broadcast in May 2018. Just as spectacular as it was for Princess Diana’s fairytale gown, Kate Middleton’s regal Alexander McQueen’s wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton and Pippa Middleton's Giles Deacon outfit, Meghan’s wedding outfit will be one that makes a statement fit for a royal wedding at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Meghan defines her personal style as feminine, yet modern. In an interview with Glamour, Meghan mentioned that her personal style for wedding dresses would be “whimsical or subtly romantic”. In fact, she wore a stunning and classic Anne Barge white wedding dress in Season 5 of Suits. While she said that it was more of her character’s style than her own, she loved the “ballerina inspired neckline”. Among her favorite designers are notable French designers Delphine Manivet and Christos Costarellos, as well as Elie Saab and J.Mendel. Hence, we’ve rounded up wedding dresses and shoes that would fit her feminine and modern style as she prepares for what would definitely be the wedding of the year.
Meghan Markle Wedding Outfit Inspiration
One of Meghan’s favorite designers for its uniqueness and beauty, we envision Meghan in this gorgeous feminine piece with 3D lace details and a vintage yet modern cut from Christos Costarellos Spring 2018 collection. The bohemian aura is both chic and fresh with the sleeveless and plunging V neck cut. This whimsical attire is perfect with our signature classic and chic, Anita. The ivory and lace wedding shoe is stunning with the delicate Alecon lace at the front and a tied bow at the back. Secure with the cross-ankle straps and comfortable with the extra padding for all-day comfort, the Anita is simple, classic and feminine, a tribute to Meghan’s signature style.
This elegant Delphine Manivel Spring 2017 wedding dress would be another option for the bride to be. The relaxed romantic dress is simple but anything but boring, in fact similar to Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s wedding dress, one Meghan described as “everything goals”. Timeless silk, cinch waist and V neckline, the gown echoes a more natural and intimate feminine feel that allows the bride to wear the dress, not let the dress wear her. The attire is perfect with our classic white lace wedding shoe, Millie. The wedding pump is romantic and delicate with Chantilly lace, has a closed silk toe cap, and a ‘something blue’ sole just in case Meghan needs a ‘something blue’ to her wedding outfit.
Another option for Meghan could be the Dutch designer Viktor and Ralf, with this grand ball gown from their Fall 2018 collection. The handmade flowers are soft but not overpowering as it shimmers from the top to the waist, fit for a Spring wedding. The halter gown is described as “flocked sequins” and is velvet when touched. The more modern structured stiletto would match perfectly with the ivory beaded D’orsay wedding pumps, May. From our new Euphoria collection, May features beaded swirls and flower patterns, an asymmetrical upper cut, and ankle straps for secure fitting, something Meghan might need to ensure she doesn’t fall on those tricky St. George Chapel steps.
Like Kate Middleton, Meghan might opt for wedding dresses that have long sleeves for a more modest approach, just like this dress from one of Meghan’s notable favorites, J.Mendel. The Spring 2017 collection dress features a modest long sleeve cut with a hint of sexiness through the see-through floral lace sleeves and the side of the gown. Wear the dress with Bella Belle’s bow tulle wedding heel, Elise by Joy Proctor. The wedding shoe features a classic skinny strap heel, removable ankle strap and an oversized tulle bow for the whimsical and timeless look.
Definitely something fit for a royal wedding, this Elie Saab Fall 2018 ensemble takes a cue from the Japanese cherry blossoms, as can be seen from the floral lace prints on the dress. The tulle ball skirt is whimsical and romantic, and the illusion bodice at the front is modest but has a major wow factor for when Meghan steps out of the vintage black car onto the steps of the chapel. While Meghan might opt for the traditional heel, like the Anita, she might want to switch to a comfortable wedding flat for the after party celebration, just like our beaded wedding flat, Allegra. The intricate floral embroidery is a perfect match to the patterns on the Elie Saab gown. The soft and comfortable modern glass slipper is definitely one even Cinderella would want to have. What better way to announce Meghan’s arrival to the royal family than this glamorous Zuhair Muhad wedding dress from the Fall 2018 bridal collection. Champagne tulle and silk chiffon with intricate lace embroidery and illusion boat neck cut, the gown is both a showstopper and jaw dropper. While a gold heel isn’t the traditional white or ivory wedding heel, we think that Meghan will be the one to break the tradition as she brings diversity to the royal British family. Our gold lace wedding heel, Anita Gold is definitely up to the task. Just like Anita but in gold, the shoe is feminine, classic and has the cross-ankle strap like the nude pumps Meghan wore during the official engagement interview. If you love gold heels as much as we do, click HERE!
Finally, Meghan might want to choose British designer Ralph Russo who has a customer portfolio from the likes of Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez and many international royals. This grand scale wedding dress will look extremely good on TV as it will be appropriate for the grand scale that comes from a chapel wedding. The structural cut fits Meghan’s personal modern structure and confident style that she loves, as well as the soft floral prints fits her preference for a romantic feel that isn’t overpowering. Accessorize with Bella Belle’s flower embroidered Mary Jane pump, Adelaide by Joy Proctor. The hand embroidered wedding shoe has a pastel hued floral design, adjustable straps and heavy padding for all-day comfort, something Meghan would definitely need for the day long spectacle.
Regardless of what Meghan chooses to wear, it’ll definitely be one that fits a royal princess and a fairytale where the girl next door meets Prince Charming and they live happily ever after.
