Bridgerton inspired wedding

Here’s How You Can Have Your Own Bridgerton Wedding

Dear readers, if you’re anything like us, you’re still just as obsessed with Bridgerton as when it first landed on our shores.

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, who was the mastermind behind hits like Grey Anatomy and Scandal, she adapted Julia Quinn’s best selling novel, Bridgerton, and Shonda-rhimed it. Fans of the show call it Downton Abbey meets Gossip Girl meets Scandal. We all watched in glee of the many scandals of London’s Regency era - and the many NSFW scenes.

Let’s be real, we were all glued to our TVs since we first saw Duke Hastings. But we were also obsessed with the show because it brought us back to the time we could all dress up - also known as the time before we all had to quarantine. It transported us back to when ladies could wear lavish ball gowns, waltz in opulent ballrooms and have secret steamy romances in the backyard. Bridgerton took us away from the reality of sweatpants, while it is extremely comfortable, doesn't scream ‘I burn for you’.

If you’re a bride-to-be, a bridesmaid or wedding guest who wants to channel your inner Daphne Bridgerton, look no further as we put together vintage-inspired wedding looks from head to toe that will transport you back to the Regency era. From dreamy gowns that are Bridgerton-inspired wedding dresses to comfortable wedding shoes to match with your vintage-inspired wedding dresses, these looks are guaranteed to catch the eye of your very own Duke of Hastings. But first, a brief lesson in history.

When was the Regency Era?

The Regency Era was a period of time between 1795 to 1837. It is known as a “mini-Renaissance” in Western Europe where fashion, fine art, literature and architecture thrived.

What is a typical Regency Era fashion style?

Women’s fashion in that era were defined by empire waist, delicate puff sleeves, alluring square and low necklines, looser silhouettes, floral prints, and fine art embellishments.

What accessories work for my Regency Era wedding dress?

Satin or opera gloves, sparkly tiaras and statement making jewelry such as pearl drop earrings. Don’t be afraid to add colors to your jewelry!

For a romantic bride

If you’ve been dreaming and secretly planning your wedding for years, then this is for you romantic brides. A little soft, a little ethereal and all things regal, we can totally imagine the Duchess of Hastings floating across the halls of her luxurious estate. We love the Makarian dress puff sleeves with a relaxed skirt, not forgetting the square neckline which is a signature Regency Era wedding dress.

Accessorize your look with an emerald ring from The One I Love and a stunning Halo & Co Tiara. Finish it off with the Lavender wedding flats that features an embroidered bow at the front. These linen bridal flats will take you straight back to the vintage era.

From #bellabellebrides Jen, “My Bella Belle x Joy Proctor flats are incredibly chic and comfy. The bow and detailing is perfection! Absolutely adore them!”

For a glamorous bride

While food may be your future spouse’s love language, your love language is bling and sparkles - the more the merrier. The sequin gown from Needle and Thread is glamorous in champagne and blue. We love the beautifully embellished sequins, scoop shaped neckline and romantic puff sleeves. Perfect for a Summer and Fall wedding.

Complete your look with a sapphire ring from Doyle & Doyle, a delicate Jennifer Behr crystal tiara and the Ines wedding flats. Marvel at the art deco design with handmade pearls, silver and ivory beads that form the prettiest geometric patterns, reminiscent of the Regency era time period. The perfect glamorous wedding shoes for your ritzy wedding vibe.

From #bellabellebrides Andi, “I had researched and researched what shoes I would get for my wedding. These were PERFECT. They are so comfortable, stunning, and have all the perfect details”.

For a dreamy bride

Dreamy brides, this one's for you. This flowy gown from Danielle Frankel checks off all the list of a classic Regency-era wedding dress. A beautiful empire waist, delicate puff sleeves and a low-cut square neckline to show off your curves.

We recommend accessorizing this dreamy look with a pear charm necklace from Larkspur & Hawk, and having a sapphire statement ring with a gold band from Erica Weiner. Stay comfortable with Bella Belle Matilda wedding heels that have fun polka dot embroidery with the dreamiest fluffy tulle bow at the back.

From #bellabellebrides Maria, “The overall design was not only picturesque, it was beyond magical in person!! The comfort, given its 4-inch heel height, was outstanding”.

For a boho chic bride

Just because you love all things natural and unique, it doesn’t mean you can’t look chic on your wedding day - hence the term, ‘boho chic’. This wedding look is reminiscent of Daphne Bridgerton’s wedding day. A delicate lace wedding dress with sheer puff sleeves and layers of scalloped lace embroidery. What more can you ask for?

Accessorize your boho chic look with Magnetic Midnight’s gold tiara that you can easily re-wear as a headband. Channel your inner Daphne Bridgerton with the most chic gloves you can find on the Internet from Sleeper. Don’t forget your comfortable boho chic wedding shoes. Bella Belle Cassie that has geometric lace patterns, a lace up ankle strap and a sturdy block heel. Let the party begin!

For a garden wedding

Garden brides love the casual and intimate atmosphere of a garden setting. This vintage wedding look is perfect for a garden wedding and totally reminds us of Marina Thompson’s style. A floral dress with a ruffled neckline and the prettiest floral details, this dress is ideal for a casual and intimate garden wedding. Best part? This Brock Collection dress can be easily re-worn!

Elevate your casual look with a Lelet NY pearl headband and the softest silk gloves from David’s Bridal. Stay comfortable and walk easily on grass with Bella Belle Loretta gold block heels. These sturdy 2 inch block heels have hand-crafted gold lace embroidery at the front while the back is secured with an ankle strap.

For bridesmaids

A big trend that we see in bridesmaids fashion is printed floral frocks - and we’re all for it. This Rodarte botanical printed dress has a V neckline, ruffled puff sleeves and a cinched waist to show off your figure. We love this dress for a Summer or Spring wedding.

Feel luxe with Mizuki pearl drop earrings and Shrimp pearl encrusted handbag, and don’t forget your comfortable shoes! As a bridesmaid, you’ll be doing a lot of walking and even running to ensure the day goes smoothly for your bride, so comfortable shoes are a must! Bella Belle Eve provides just that. With 3x more padding than any other brand, a secure double ankle strap and breathable mesh at the front, this heel is the perfect bridesmaid heel

For wedding guests

Wedding guests who are inspired by the Duchess of Hasting will love this Self-Portrait blue polka dotted A-line midi dress. Not only is blue the signature color of the Bridgertons, but this midi dress also has ruffled sleeves and a square neckline with a ruffled tulle high neck, a Regency era signature.

Viscountess Violet Bridgerton will approve of the Stone and Strand pearl hoop earrings and Simone Rocha pearl and crystal bag to accessorize the look. Daphne’s mom will also love Bella Belle Daisy blue flats with hand-beaded pearls and beads in a floral design at the side of the flats.

From #bellabellebrides Kayla, “Gorgeous shoes, just as pictured. The beaded detail is wonderful. They were also comfy to wear all day long!
